Harbor views from nearly every room. The Wheeler House is a historical building with wide plank pine floors and charm throughout. Located within walking distance to all the attractions of downtown Rockland.

This 2nd story apartment has a spacious living room, an oversized bedroom with 2 queen beds, a full kitchen w/ island, and the bright bathroom has an antique clawfoot tub/shower. Additionally, there is a laundry room and private parking onsite.

The access

Guests access the apartment via stairs. There is a front entrance from the street and back entrance from the parking area.

Basic

Historical building, 2nd floor 1100 sq ft apartment. Super views, business level WIFI, smart TV, a fully equipped kitchen, 2 queen beds, dining for 4, heating, air conditioning, washer/dryer, balcony, private parking.

Facilities

The Wheeler House is a historic building with 18th century touches and upgraded charm. Free off street parking on premises.

Guest access

Guests will access their apartment via private entrances in the front and the back. This is a second floor apartment, 1st floor for our European guests, stairs are involved. This apartment is not ideal for children under 12 or folks with limited mobility.

Entertainment

The guests can rely on fast WIFI and a Roku enabled smart TV to access their own entertainment subscriptions ( Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc.).

Bedroom

You will enjoy the oversized bedroom with 2 queen beds, views of the harbor, and the perfect reading chair to sit and sigh a bit.

Kitchen

There is a fully equipped kitchen with island and dining area. Coffee and tea are important, we have you covered.

Dining

The combination kitchen-dining room can easily accommodate 4 people.

Bed and bath

There is a bright bathroom with plenty of storage and a antique clawfoot tub/shower. Bed linens, extra pillows and blankets, bath towels, hair dryer, hangers, soaps and shampoo are provided.

Logistics

Currently only available for minimum stays of 29 nights. Discounts apply to stays in excess of 8 weeks.

Safety and security first! Fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide alarm, smoke alarm, first aid kit are present.

Neighborhood

You will be a stone's throw from Rock City Coffee Roasters and popular Hill's Seafood Restaurant. A short stroll brings you to the Farnsworth Museum, Wyeth Center, The Strand Theater and a robust food scene. The local farmer's market is on Thursdays and located at Harbor Park just across the street.

When not exploring historic Rockland, this location is a great home base for exploring the central coast of Maine. Easy scenic drives to Camden, Deer Isle, Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

We currently provide hight speed internet and Roku smart TVs.

Potential for noise — Popular restaurants, pubs, festivals closeby. Usually it is quiet by 10pm, however on some occasions, there could be some noise later.

Must climb stairs — There are several stairs both front and back to access this 2nd floor apartment.

Some spaces are shared — Front door and foyer is shared with other apartment. The driveway and parking lot is shared with other apartment guests and neighboring businesses.

Security Deposit - if you damage the home, you may be charged up to $250

This apartment is most comfortable for only 2 guests.

The primary guest must be at least 25 years or older.

PARKING: Private off street parking is available for one vehicle directly behind the home.

PETS: Unfortunately, no pets allowed at this property.

NOISE AND NEIGHBORHOOD: Due to our Main Street location, there will be some street noise associated with this apartment. Most people find the convenience of our downtown location and the magnificent view, compensate for any street noise.

CHECK OUT: Thank you for your prompt check-out before 11:00am, this allows our housekeeper enough time to prepare for our next guests. Later checkouts need our approval, please ask in advance of check out day and we will do our best to accommodate. Late check outs that impact the preparation of the apartment for the next guest may incur a $50/hour charge.

Cancellation Policy

 

Full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking, IF the check-in date is at least 14 days away. 50% refund for cancellations made at least 7 days before check-in. No refunds for cancellations made within 7 days of check-in.
