I really enjoyed my week stay here. My friends and I were in a bind after our cruise was canceled while we were on our flight to it, and Chad really helped us out by being an accommodating host. The following are the reasons I’m leaving a four as opposed to a five: 1. While the kitchen had many small pots, small pans, glasses, and eating utensils, there was a lack of larger pots/pans, cooking utensils, and a colander. We were able to cook most things we wanted, but it was hard to cook large family dishes with what was available. More Tupperware and a roll of cling wrap would’ve really helped too. 2. A couple things were wonky during the stay; namely: the toilet in the half bath had problems running and flushing, the HDMI in the living room TV would not maintain a connection, and a fire alarm in the master bedroom went off a couple of random times. Chad handled the toilet by sending a plumber immediately, and he was available to help with the fire alarm. I only bring these up because similar small nuisances kept happening which was mildly annoying. 3. The quiet hours were a lot to deal with. The posted quiet hours in the manual are 10pm to 8am, which is entirely reasonable. On one of our first nights, we made the mistake of staying out very late and making a lot of noise. We recognize that that was our fault. However, the next day our punishment (for lack of a better word) was a new strict 8pm curfew. We were informed we would be monitored with sound checkers, and we were not allowed to step outside unless we were throwing out trash or going to our car. We understand that the quiet hours are not a joke, but it was quite nuclear to immediately lose all ability to even quietly sit in the hot tub from 8pm to 10pm. It was even more frustrating because the neighbors (who made the complaint) had a loud dog that barked a lot throughout the day. The fact that we made this mistake on our second night and were given no chance to make up for it or earn leniency throughout the week was a huge downer for the rest of the stay. After a couple of nights of not making a peep after 8pm, it would have been reasonable to restore our outdoor time back to 10pm. If you plan on making even the slightest bit of noise at night (part of the complaint stemmed from two people quietly chatting in a hot tub after midnight), I would recommend looking elsewhere. However, if the 10pm curfew is not a problem for you then disregard this bullet. Overall my friends and I very much enjoyed our stay here, and we would come back! I am sharing this thorough recount simply to better inform anyone looking into the house. If you are looking for somewhere that you can hang by the pool during the day that’s close to restaurants, bars, and Publix, look no further. If you are looking for somewhere that you can swim/hot tub/hang outside past 10, look somewhere else.
